- What to Expect
What to Expect
In a TCTSY group session your trauma-informed facilitator will:
- be informed about triggers, flashbacks, dissociative states & overwhelming emotions
- endeavour to minimise triggers, and to create safety
- make space for you to step out of any practice and any class
- be able to refer participants to therapists and services which specialise in trauma informed practice
It is important to also know that :
- TCTSY group sessions are not group therapy
- participants will not be asked to share their trauma histories or to process their memories
- although your facilitator may well be a therapist, a clinician or even a certified TCTSY Facilitator, in a TCTSY group session s/he will not be in the class to offer these services, but rather to hold the space for a body-based and present moment experience of yoga
